Doti district is located in the Seti Zone, and is one of the remote hilly districts of the Far Western Region of Nepal. The total population of the district is 212,670 and the human development index of Doti is ranked 64th out of 75. In July 2009, World Vision International Nepal (WVIN) introduced two new Area Development Programmes pilot testing the Integrated Programme Model (IPM) with Doti IPM being one of them. Doti IPM is funded by World Vision Japan. Doti lies in the northern hills adjoining far west WVIN Kailali ADP. Presently, a team of three, led by Doti IPM team leader Prakash Shrestha, is undergoing an assessment of Doti Area. With the objective of finding out key issues related to child well -being, vulnerability and WVIN’s work feasibility in the area, visiting places, interviewing community children and people, interaction with Government Bodies, INGO/NGO representatives, key stakeholders, secondary data review, etc, are some of the activities under their assessment.
